Greetings, I'm Lyn. Over the past decade, I've immersed myself in the realm of therapeutic practice, fueled by an unwavering commitment to unravel the complexities of human experiences and relationships. My professional journey, ranging from a licensed therapist to heading the sex therapy department at GetLasting, isn't merely a collection of titles—it mirrors my personal odyssey in discovering and utilizing my authentic voice.
Within my practice, a central focus is guiding clients and fellow therapists toward finding their genuine voices. It's a mission centered on assisting individuals in recognizing and embracing their true selves, acknowledging the beauty and strength inherent in their unique stories. At the core of my passion lies the art of listening to these narratives and honoring the remarkable individuals behind them.
A substantial facet of my path involves addressing trauma, particularly emphasizing early attachment wounds and the intricate landscape of sexual trauma. Frequently, I encounter individuals and couples caught in a paradox: an intense desire for connection coupled with a simultaneous struggle to decode or express overwhelming emotions. Many possess remarkable cognitive acuity, intuitive understanding, and professional achievements, yet grapple with a sense of emotional estrangement, as if a transparent barrier separates them from the world.
Concurrently, I'm deeply engaged in discernment counseling for couples navigating pivotal decisions. This isn't an immersion into intensive therapeutic work but rather an authentic space for couples to evaluate their relationships. It's a reflective, short-term journey where they can ask probing questions, uncovering whether their partnership aligns with their evolving selves or if compassionate closure is the next step. Each individual, each couple, weaves a unique narrative, and it's an honor to contribute to these stories—aiding people in rediscovering trust, rebuilding connections, and making empowered decisions about their relational futures.
